The Purple I Almost Forgot I Made

It's been a while since I posted, life took over for a bit the way it sometimes does. But I've got a folder of old work just sitting there waiting to be shared, so I'm easing back in with some color.

This collection was semi formal, and each piece had its own thing going on.

The top right one was a striped, purple fabric where I played around with lace and clean cuts. The straight lace along the yoke line, with a pleated yoke layered right on top. A-line shape, with a shimmery sheer silver lining at the hem and sleeves, and a tie-dye dupatta to match the lace tones.

The left one was a frock-style top with waist length box pleats, plus a silver box-pleated panel down the side. Long gathered sleeves, with sequined lace along the boat neck and cuffs.

And the bottom one is the one I remember costing the most to make, there was just a lot going on.

Two tone fabric (we dyed the bottom half), a pleated yoke with embroidered motifs patched on top, dark purple velvet along the hem, and shimmery silver-gray cuffs. The dupatta was also two toned, trimmed all around in dark purple ribbon. Honestly, I don't even remember anymore if it was paired with trousers or churidar, but either was it was dark purple.

If the floral post was all about no rules, this one's the opposite. Soft colors, clean lines, and details you only notice once you look closer. Different mood, still me.

Thanks for sticking around, more's coming just on my own time. See you in the next one, whenever that may be.
