Hosting for Eid is my favorite excuse to cook everything at once. This spread was for the Friend's Eid gathering in 2025, and as always; nothing on this table followed a strict recipe. The top photo is my homemade version of garlic bread! simple, straightforward and made my way. The bottom is my attempt at Spanakopita. I had it for the first time at the Bread And Roses Strike Centennial Festival in Boston. I loved it so much that I came home and tried to recreate it. The phyllo roses on the top were my own little touch. It turned out pretty close to what I remembered. Some dishes you discover at a restaurant. Others find you at a festival in Boston.

The bottom two photos are from 2017 when my niece Dorsa turned 5. My very first attempt at a layered cake. Her reaction put me on cloud nine and it became her favorite birthday cake for years. The top collage is from her 14th birthday. Same love, new flavors, more opinions. I didn't get a chance to ask her which one she preferred, but I'm sure she will let me know!
